All eligible students may obtain a S11 (commuter) or RR (resident - living on campus - Granville residents are not eligible) parking permit, while supplies last.
Student Parking Map
If you have been placed on a waitlist for your first choice, you may also acquire a S11 or RR permit. You will remain on the waitlist for your first choice.
Please be aware of the two mile radius restrictions for student commuter parking:
2 mile streets
2 mile apartments
The payment period for any permit received in the lottery is over. If you did not pay, the permit has been forfeited and will be released on the next waitlist release.
Spring, 2014 Hardship Parking Application is HERE.
Student Parking Waitlist Sign-Up will begin August 12th around 9am. If you did not receive your first choice in the lottery, you are automatically registered for the waitlist for the permit you did not receive. If you change your waitlist, you will lose the position you have on your current waitlist. Students may only be on one waitlist at any given time.
CAP (commuter alternatives program) registration has begun.
Student parking at UNC-CH is limited. Demand outweighs supply. At this point, the only permits available for purchase are S11 (commuter) or RR (resident - living on campus - Granville residents are not eligible) parking permit, (while supplies last). All other permits that are available (not claimed during the lottery process) will be offered to those students on the waitlist by highest position (randomly generated during the lottery process). Being on the waitlist does not guarantee you will be offered a permit during the academic year. Most permits have been claimed.
There is also the hardship process for students in severe need of a permit. A student committee decides who is offered the hardship permits.
You may also sign up for the waitlist August 12th around 9am, but honestly, the odds of receiving a permit from the waitlist are slim. It definetely does not hurt to attempt and you may get lucky, but one should not count on parking at this point of the process if you have not received a permit.
