Academic Year Parking & Commuter Alternative (CAP) Registration The online registration begins during the first week of July prior to the start of the Fall Academic semester. Each class is assigned a day and time to login for the first-come, first-serve registration. Professional schools may have specific registration processes that are handled directly by the school representatives. Students must determine their eligibility for certain lots by carefully reviewing the section that relates to their class eligibility. Parking allotments are set aside by class and commuter / resident status. Students should be prepared to login at the designated time and date for a first-come, first-serve sale of available permits by class and commuter/resident status. The site remains open for students to purchase available permits throughout the year. CAP registration remains open year round. Students must have their vehicle registration and proof of insurance (Company, Policy Number, Expiration Date) and have all parking citations paid prior to registering.
Student Hardship Parking Process The Student Hardship Parking Application is available on July 1st for students that have significant responsbilities that are job and/or family-related and were unable to obtain a reasonable accommodation in the first-come, first-serve permit registration. A Committee comprised of student government representatives review and assign available hardship permits.
Student Waiting List If a first-choice permit is not available, students may go on a Student Permit Waiting List through My Account. Waiting list positions are determined by date registered and class status. Permits are released throughout the year based on availability and notifications are sent to the email address provided during registration. Waiting permits must be purchased by deadlines stated in the email or the permit is forfeited.
Commuter Alternative Program (CAP) Many commuter students opt to join the Commuter Alternative Program (CAP) and utilize commuting choices such as local and regional transit, park and ride, carpool, vanpool, biking, and walking to access campus. The program provides participants economically and environmentally sound commuting opportunities. All CAP registrations are done online at My Account.
