Evening and Late Night Service at UNC

The P2P Express offers free, regularly scheduled transportation to all students and employees along a fixed campus route.  The Express operates seven days a week during Spring and Fall academic semesters, from 7:00 pm until 3:00 am.  See the Point-to-Point Shuttle Brochure on the Public Safety website for a detailed route map and up-to-date service schedule.

NOTE REGARDING P2P EXPRESS SERVICE ON MEN'S BASKETBALL HOME GAME NIGHTS:
Beginning as early as 3.5 hours prior to game time for home men’s basketball games, during games, and until traffic dissipates after games end, P2P Express will not serve stops along Bowles Drive. Riders who normally board at these stops should access service via alternate stops at Ehringhaus Residence Hall or along Manning Drive in front of the Public Safety Building.

Sunday Evening RR Lot Service
A P2P minibus runs continuously between the RR parking lot and campus every 20 minutes from 11:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m., every Sunday (after Chapel Hill Transit ceases “NU” Route service) during the academic year. Individual van service requests will not be accepted from the RR lot during these Sunday hours.

Third Bus Thursdays
To augment P2P Express service during high demand periods, a third bus runs directly between Granville Towers and south campus (Hinton James) between 10:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. every Thursday evening.

Student Health Shuttle
Transportation to and from campus locations and the Student Health Service or UNC Hospitals’ Emergency Room is available to students during all hours of operation.
NOTE: Emergency conditions requiring treatment en route or dealing with bleeding issues should be addressed to the Orange County EMS service (call 911).

Saferide -- A shuttle will run continuously between midnight and 3:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. It links the Student Union with campus housing locations (including Granville Towers and fraternities and sororities close to campus).

CAP Emergency Ride Back -- In an effort to reduce traffic congestion and the number of vehicles parked on campus, the Commuter Alternatives Program (CAP) is designed to reward UNC employees and students who do not drive a single-occupancy vehicle (SOV) to commute to campus. CAP registrants can take advantage of such incentives as Emergency Ride Back transportation, offered from campus to park and ride lots, or other locations within the Chapel Hill Carrboro city limits in situations of urgency. For more information call DPS at 962 - 3951 or visit this Emergency Ride Back Link.
