Sunday Evening RR Lot Service
A P2P minibus runs continuously between the RR parking lot and campus every 20 minutes from 11:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m., every Sunday (after Chapel Hill Transit ceases “NU” Route service) during the academic year. Individual van service requests will not be accepted from the RR lot during these Sunday hours.
Third Bus Thursdays
To augment P2P Express service during high demand periods, a third bus runs directly between Granville Towers and south campus (Hinton James) between 10:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. every Thursday evening.
Student Health Shuttle
Transportation to and from campus locations and the Student Health Service or UNC Hospitals’ Emergency Room is available to students during all hours of operation.
NOTE: Emergency conditions requiring treatment en route or dealing with bleeding issues should be addressed to the Orange County EMS service (call 911).
Saferide -- A shuttle will run continuously between midnight and 3:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday. It links the Student Union with campus housing locations (including Granville Towers and fraternities and sororities close to campus).
CAP Emergency Ride Back -- In an effort to reduce traffic congestion and the number of vehicles parked on campus, the Commuter Alternatives Program (CAP) is designed to reward UNC employees and students who do not drive a single-occupancy vehicle (SOV) to commute to campus. CAP registrants can take advantage of such incentives as Emergency Ride Back transportation, offered from campus to park and ride lots, or other locations within the Chapel Hill Carrboro city limits in situations of urgency. For more information call DPS at 962 - 3951 or visit this Emergency Ride Back Link.
RDU Airport Shuttle
P2P partners with student government representatives to provide a free airport shuttle service to all students for Fall, Thanksgiving and Spring Breaks. Shuttles run from campus to RDU Airport the day before the scheduled break, every 2 hours between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm. Shuttles leave from the P2P lot on Manning Drive (behind Morrison) and the SRC lot on South Road. Sign-ups are available 2 weeks prior to scheduled break and close 3 days before break begins. Shuttles are not provided for Winter Break.
Return shuttle service is provided from RDU back to the P2P lot on Manning Drive (behind Morrison) and the SRC lot on South Road. Return shuttles provide service on the Sunday following the break period and run on the hour, from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm. The return shuttles pick up from the #9 purple prearranged services bus stop at both terminals. No sign-up is needed for return shuttles.
Riders are allowed to bring one carry-on item and one personal item (i.e., a backpack) onto the bus. A maximum of 25 people can sign up per shuttle, so it's best to schedule as soon as possible. It can take up to 1 hour to get to RDU from Chapel Hill, so please plan accordingly. Make sure to sign up for an earlier shuttle time if the preferred time is full. Under-utilized shuttle times may be combined.
For service outside of the above times, see Triangle Transit routes 800 and 100. The cost of this service is $2 each way with a free transfer ticket.
