Attention Motorists:

Monday, July 23 through Sunday, August 5 (tentatively), a paving contractor will conduct an NC Department of Transportation milling / re-paving project on South Columbia Street between South Road and Cameron Avenue. Though traffic flow will be maintained throughout the project, equipment staging in the right lane and the project itself will significantly impact traffic through that area—motorists should plan accordingly.

The Chapel Hill Transit bus stop at the ROTC Building will not be accessible. Riders should either board to the south at the Carrington Hall stop or to the north at the Abernathy Hall stop (opposite Fraternity Court). Additionally, the South Columbia Street entrance to the Peabody Lot (N3 Zone) will be inaccessible. Permit holders should enter and exit the lot via Cameron Avenue.

For NC DOT real-time travel information at any time, call 511, visit www.ncdot.gov/travel or follow NCDOT on Twitter at www.ncdot.gov/travel/twitter.

Please observe all traffic direction signs, barricades, and other traffic control devices during this project. Please call the Department of Public Safety at 962-3951 during normal business hours with other questions or concerns.
