Attention Motorists and Pedestrians:
Please use Caution and Heed Signage
Near Manning Drive / South Columbia Street Construction

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use extreme caution in the area of construction on the Dental Sciences Research Building, at the northeast corner of the intersection of Manning Drive and South Columbia Street (see map below). A staging fence around the construction site has been installed which limits visibility and has severed traditional routes of pedestrian travel along the northern shoulder of Manning Drive from West Drive to South Columbia Street and along the eastern shoulder of South Columbia Street northward to the Health Sciences Library.

Pedestrians should utilize pedestrian walkways as noted below and as communicated on signs placed near the construction site. It is both dangerous and unlawful to walk in the streets except at valid crosswalks. Motorists should travel at or below the posted speed limits with all due caution and be alert to pedestrians entering the roadways as they familiarize themselves with new pedestrian traffic patterns at this already-busy intersection.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. If you have any further questions, please call the Department of Public Safety at 962 - 3951.
