Post a ride, win an iPad!

If you're traveling for spring break, post your road trip on Zimride to share the ride with other Tar Heels! You'll be entered to win an iPad from Zimride after you post a ride, by March 31st (for one-time trips only). Even if you're just going to the airport, you can match up with others going the same way.

Zimride is a private ridesharing network for UNC, but you may also choose to match to the entire Zimride network to increase your ride matches. You may also find rideshare partners through ShareTheRideNC.

Zipcar Presents Project Roadway!

This spring, Zipcar is challenging any student with an eye for design to enter their Project Roadway contest and design ZipcarU’s newest t-shirt. The winner will get $500 cash and an hour with Zipcar’s creative director to go over their design and learn a little about the creative process at a company like Zipcar. To check out the contest, see old designs that just missed the cut or get your hands on some design tools, click here. Just remember, you’ve got to get your design in before April 30th to have a shot.

GoCreative!

Calling All Students to GoCreative!
Did you know that the 1,600 hours spent in or near a car annually are equal to the time it takes to complete almost 9 semesters of college with a 12 hour course load per semester -- that’s enough class time to earn a four-year degree!

GoTriangle wants you to express yourself and GoCreative! Let us know, through whatever form of art or written word you prefer, how your life would change if you changed your daily commute by shortening it, using public transportation, biking, carpooling, walking or any other alternative to drive-alone commuting.

GoCreative!
Using this experience, develop an original submission (can be an audio/video production, “podcast”, artistic piece (i.e. painting, sculpture, drawing, etc.) or original writing.

Contest submissions open Monday March 18th and close on April 15th at 11:59 pm.

#GoLove
Thank you to all who participated in the #GoLove online scavenger hunt. While it might not be Valentine’s Day, bus operators from across the region still have a love song for you. Whenever you need them, they’ll be there.

Construction Alerts

The Health Sciences Library Bus Stop will be closed until further notice due to construction of the ductbank and streetscaping construction projects. Columbia will be closed to one lane from Manning Dr north to the Health Sciences Library to install an underground utility ductbank. Alternate lanes will be closed including the bus lane as each half of the road is under construction. Immediately following the ductbank project, the streetscaping project will commence. Pedestrian access will be provided. Please use caution in this area.

South Columbia will continue to have occasional temporary lane closures due to the DOT widening project.

Purefoy Road closure has been postponed due to problems with an existing underground utility line.
